Bio

Books:

Ko wai au?
Nō Ingarani ōku tūpuna ... all 8 of my mother's greatgrandparents came as early settlers to North Canterbury from the English midlands. None of them had any money, and all of them were active Christians, mostly Methodists.
My father's ancestory is Danish, also very early settlers.
So it's been several generations here, good caring hard-working people.
My father was a Pacifist, imprisoned during WWII, then unable to work as a teacher in NZ. So he moved his family into the Pacific. I was born in Suva, Fiji, after my mother bravely became his 2nd wife. After their marriage ended Dad went on to have two more wives!
Mum returned to Lower Hutt with my sister and I when I was 11. I was part of the Methodist Church there, becoming National Youth Co-ordinator after Uni. Met Chris and married him, followed by youth and parish ministry in Taupō and Wainuiomata. I trained as a counsellor while having babies & supervising at Playcentre. Then down to Dunedin to train for ordination, three kids in tow!
Chris was ordained into military chaplaincy, and I was ordained into the Foxton-Shannon Parish, followed by Milson Combined Church in Palmerston North. 9 good years living at Linton. Chris was posted to Burnham and I was appointed to Cashmere Presbyterian in Christchurch. I left the parish in 2020, just as Covid hit. Post grad study led to more research and two books. Plus diving into sustainability and climate change, forming a consultancy and then a mental health network.
2023 saw Chris posted to Trentham camp, and us settling in Upper Hutt, in a lovely house by the park, where I work in private practice. In 2026 I launched my seminars business. Plus I keep my hand in with ministry, preaching regularly at Upper Hutt Uniting Parish and St Barnabas Presbyterian in Paremata.
